Werner has over 20 years’ experience in food safety, risk management and brand protection consulting in the EMEA and Asia-Pacific markets. Most recently, Werner was the Global Head of an international food safety consulting practice. He also founded SCASJ in 2017 to provide assistance to technology minded start-ups in the food and beverage sector, with solutions based on augmented reality, statistical quality assurance, the Internet of Things, gamification, analytics, etc. Werner is a member of the Global Markets Technical Committee of the Global Food Safety Initiative and a Departmental Board Member at the University College Ghent, Faculty of Biosciences. When Werner is not spending time with his large family, he is finishing his house renovation, teaching Jiu-Jitsu or preparing for his annual quarter triathlon.
